714 X
General Background : Developed by biologists Gaston Naessens, the 714X ttreatment consists of three consecutive series of twenty one days of injections of nitrogen-rich camphor and organic salts directly into the lymphatic system.
Jacinte Levesque, OMD, of Montreal Quebec, Canada, and a close associate of naessens, and owner of a holistic care clinic, notes that this therapy was developed when Naessens observed that cancer cells required and used up a lot of nitrogen, often stealing
it from healthy cells. " In order to do this, cancer cells excrete a poisonous compound called the 'co-carcinogenic K factor', " Levesque
says, " which paralyzes the immune system, allowing the cancer ells to draw the needed nitrogen from the healthy cells.
" When the 714X is introduced into the system, it acts as an attractor for the cancer cells, because of the high level of nitrogen in the camphor. Now, because the cancer cells are getting their nitrogen from the camphor molecules, they no longer have to excrete
the K co-factor to immobilize the healthy cells' defensive systems.
It's like a distraction, because the 714 doesn't kill the cancer cells, but rather attracts them and feeds them in order to liberate the immune system, " Levesque adds. " So while the 714X is engaging the cancer cells, the immune system starts to pick up, and is able
to do it's job once again since4 it is not paralyzed by the co-factor anymore. "
Another major benefit of the treatment, notes Levesque, is it's additional effect on the lymph system. " The first thing that the 714X actually does, becasue of the action of the organic salts when it is injected into the lymphatic system, is to liquify the lymph, allowing
toxins to be flushed out, " she says. " This is important because one of the consequences of cancer, due to the fact that cancer cells put out so many toxins, is that the lymph system becomes clogged up. This also helps the immune system because one of it's main jobs
is to take toxins out of the body so it can function properly."
According to Naessens' protocol, the 714X preparation is injected into the lymphatic nodes of the groin, with injections given once a day for periods of 21 consecutive days, followed by a break of two days, to allow the patient to rest while the natural defenses of the
body are restored. People with advanced cases of cancer, though, can receive a more intense and prolonged therapy, since 714X has
no harmful side effects.
Hydrazine Sulfate
General Background : Often, cancer patients die not from the disease itself but from a process called cachexia, a condition in which the body becomes malnourished and the patient simply wastes away. In 1968,
Dr. Joseph Gold, Director of the Syracuse Cancer Research Insitute in Syracuse New York, discovered that the chemical hydrazine
sulfate could reverse cachexia, providing the body with extra stregth to fight the disease.
Although not touted as a "cure", hydrazine sulfate has been documented to shrink tumors and even cause them to completely disappear. It also seems to work at every stage of disease, particularly for cancers of the rectum, colon, ovaries, prostate, thyroid, breast, and lung,
as well as for Hodgkin's disease, melanoma, and lymphoma. Weight gain, as well as the disappearance of tumors and symptoms,
are some of the benefits of hydrazine sulfate therapy.
At the Petrov Research Institute of Oncology in Leningrad Russia, scientists followed the progress of 740 terminal cancer patients over a fifteen year period, all of them suffering from a broad range of tumors. no matter what form of cancer had triggered the condition, nearly 50%
saw an improvement in their cachexia, with 14% being pronouced benefits. In addition, 10% had their tumors regress and all saw a stabilization of the disease process. Rowan Chlebowski, MD, PhD, replicated these results in a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of terminally
ill lung cancer patients suffering from cachexia at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
While hydrazine sulfate can be toxic, the form used in cancer treatment differs from industrial grade versions in that it has been highly purified. Side effects are limited to occasional nausea, dizziness, itching, drowsiness, and euphoria. Although there have been occasional reports
of patients experiencing numbness in their extremities, these conditions have been alleviated through the use of Vitamin B6.
Shark Cartilage
General Background : One of the reasons tumors grow is because they develop their own blood supply. Most tissues and organs also do this in a process known as angiogenesis. Cartilage though, a tough , elastic, connective tissue,
found in most animals, including sharks and humans, does not develop a blood supply, because it contains an "anti-angiogenetic"
substance which stops the blood suppy from developing, according to I. William Lane, PhD, of New Jersey, one of the leading
proponents of cartilage therapy.
The basis for shark cartilage therapy is that if the blood supply to tumors can be interrupted, they will stop growing and eventually die. Research has demonstrated that cartilage's anti-angiogenic properties can do just this. Robert Langer, PhD, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
has further demonstrated that shark cartilage contains one thousand times more of the antiangiogenesis inhibitor than any other type
of cartilage.
Testing with shark cartilage has been successful on animals and more recently on terminally ill cancer patients. The first human study was conducted in conjunction with Dr. Ernesto Contreras Jr., of the Hospital Ernesto Contreras in Tijuana Mexico. the patients chosen suffered from a variety
of cancers, including cervical, colon, and breast, and all had a life expectancy of only three to six months. Shark cartilage, the sole form of cancer treatment, was administered via retention enema, and after the first month, seven out of eight of the patients experienced tumor reductions
ranging from 30 to 100%. In all cases symtomatic improvements were noted as well, including pain control, weight gain, improved
energy, and attitude.
Another clinical study using shark cartilage was done with nineteen terminal cancer patients in Cuba, with the cooperation of Dr. Lane. After sixteen weeks of treatment there were no toxic side effects, and in every case, the tumors stopped growing, with many shrinking from between 15 and 58%.
These patients were all terminal with wide metastasis to other parts of the body, and had received prior treatments that had
all failed.
Dr. Lane has also been working with Renato Martinez, MD, and naturopathic consultant Dante Ruccio, ND, both from Bloomfield, New Jersey, in a study involving 94 advanced or terminal cancer patients. According to Dr. Ruccio, twelve are reported in complete remission and all but two are still under
shark cartilage treatment and receiving positive benefit.
Since March 1993, NCI-trained oncologist and immunologist Charles B. Simone, MD, of Laurenceville, New Jersey, has been monitoring patients with advanced cancers who are using shark cartilage as a food supplement. Of the twenty patients he monitored over the initial eight weeks, he reported the
complete elimination of tumors in four patients and a reduction in three others.
Case History : Dr. Ruccio recalls that the first cancer remission he observed as a result of shark cartilage therapy was in a "distinguished looking elderly minister" suffering from prostate cancer which had spread into his bones. A prestigious New York cancer center had given
the minister only three to six months to live. Over a period of time on shark cartilage, the minister's specific antigen blood marker, PSA, which had originally indicated the cance4r activity in his prostate, dropped by about 98% from it's previous level of 2100, to a count of 5 or 6, indicating almost no
cancer activity. The shark cartilage also returned the minister's outward appearance to it's normal, healthy, pink glow, and he no
longer had to urinate using a catheter.
Laetrile
General Background : Known technically as amygdalin, or Vitamin B17, Laetrile was first synthesized in 1924. Much of the experimental work on Laetrile has been conducted by Harold W. Manner, PhD, Chairman of the Biology Department at Loyola University,
Chicago, whose work is considered to be among the first unbiased studies of the overall value of Laetrile. He reported that Laetrile is virtually non-toxic and that, when used along with Vitamin A and certain enzymes, it stimulates the production of antibodies against spontaneous breast tumors in mice.
There was complete regression in 76% of the mice treated which had mammary carcinomas.
The best results using Laetrile are usually obtained when it is used in conjunction with proteolytic enzymes, diet, Vitamin A, and
other Vitamins and Minerals.
Laetrile is a good example of a therapy which is sometimes effective and sometimes not. Between 1975 and 1977, fourteen patients were interviewed in an informal study, as to the benefits derived from Laetrile. Of the twelve responding to the study, three were cured, two were materially helped using Laetrile in
conjunction with chemotherapy and/or surgery, and seven died from 2 to 17 months after treatment.
Case History : No physiccian has had more clinical experience with laetrile than Ernesto Contreras, Sr.,
MD, of the Contreras Hospital in Tijuana Mexico. Dr. Contreras has used Laetrile clinically for more than thirty years on thousands
of mostly terminally diagnosed patients with impressive results.
Many of Dr. Contreras' cases have been reviewed by Alex Duarte, OD, PhD, of Grass Valley California, a fellow of the International Academy of Medical Preventics. According to Dr. Duarte, one of Dr. Contreras' patients was a man suffering from severe colon cancer. Using Laetrile alone, Dr. Contreras was able to arrest
the cancer, and the man has since been in remission for over fifteen years.
Vitamin C Therapy
Cancer tissue liberates an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which dissolves hyalouronic acid
(a protective agent of the connective tissue) and allows for the spread of tumors. This observation lead two time Nobel laureat
Linus Pauling, PhD, of Palo Alto california, to conclude that Vitamin C would be of value in curing cancer based on the
premise that more collagen fibrils (small, insoluble protein fibers that are often components of a cell) would be formed,
providing a more effective wall against the spread of the tumor. A controlled study provided startling evidence that megadoses
of Vitamin C increased survival time in cancer patients. patients treated with Vitamin C lived an average of 300 days longer
than patients who were not given supplemental amounts of Vitamin. Perhaps the greatest evidence of the value of large
doses of Vitamin C in fighting cancer comes from the combined work of Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD, of Victoria British Columbia
and Dr. Pauling. In a recent study, with cancer of the breast, ovary, uterus, or cervix continuously received large daily doses
of ascorbic acid and other Vitamins. Another 61 patients with other kinds of cancer followed the same regimen, while 31 patients
received no Vitamin supplements and served as the control group. The control group lived an average of 5.7 months. Of the others ,
80% of the patients with cancer of the breast, ovary, cervix, or uterus, had a mean survival time of 122 months; while 47% with
the other kinds of cancer lived for an average of 72 months. This study shows that the length of life for those using Vitamin C was
13 to 21 times longer, than those who did not receive it.
